This is a great recording. Particularly innovative are two tracks on the CD which feature operatic arias sung in Italian, paired back to back with the same songs sung in English.

Luciano Pavarotti is credited with popularizing opera for diverse groups such as opera for children, opera for lovers and opera sung with pop musicians. However, he has yet to make inroads with Christian-Gospel listeners. Generally Singing fills that void. It is opera for the people.

Many listeners will be delighted with the contemporary arrangement of the American spiritual Deep River. Others may prefer Danny Boy or O sole mio. In any event, all will find the program to be fresh and inspirational and will find themselves captivated and singing along as well.

Opera has been Jerry's first love since childhood. Before the Korean War came along and changed his plans, he seriously considered pursuing a singing career. Since then, his military and governmental duties have occupied most of his time. Only in the last few years has Jerry found time to pursue a career as an operatic baritone. Jerry has sung in Europe, the United States, the Far East, and Brazil.
